The CAMS Australian Endurance Championship heads to New Zealand for the Hampton Downs 101. Reiter Engineering customers will join the race with Gallardo R-EX and Camaro GT3.
Round three of the 2016 launched CAMS Australian Endurance Championship is the first of two events of the Championship in New Zealand. Hamptons Down Motorsport Park, halfway between Auckland and Hamilton, hosts the 101-lap race on Sunday, broadcasted live in New Zealand on TV3 and Australia on Fox Sports. Additional the special Top 10 qualifying shootout on Saturday will be shown live at 4pm local time on TV3. The Hampton Downs 101 entry list shows two Reiter Engineering customer cars. Roger Lago, third in the sprint championship and leader of the Gold Cup, and David Russell will share the cockpit of the #23 JBS Australia Gallardo R-EX. They collected their first points in the new championship at Sydney Motorsports Park back in August. A Camaro GT3, normally raced in the North Island Endurance Championship in New Zealand this year, will be entered by ELF Lubrivants/Chester’s Plumbing Supplies. The drivers of the big V8 GT3 still have to be announced.
